Symmetry

Since growing and attaining new skills, I have quite embraced the place of symmetry in my design and patterns.

Mandalic art has been a recurring thing since discovering the tool, Amaziograph. The tool allows me to create patterns and see the repeating effect with minimal work on my end to better design all-over prints compared to the steps needed on other apps.

I have also used Procreate to develop mandala assets with the Symmetry tool.

Lately I have been looking at the vast amount of mandalas I have created and wondered what to do with them.

Coloring book?

Foil Prints?

Stickers?

I enjoy making them, and often I present myself challanges. Keep it interesting. Like the fruits pattern in a separate post, I might pick a theme. Lately it has been math and choosing symmetries which are all divisible by the same number.

I have over 100 pieces created over the past three years (at the time of this writing). It's simple to say that I enjoy doing this, despite not being sure how to share them with everyone.

I think because I started doodling with black markers, I prefer to present my work in black and white still. When applying to a cartoony, illustrative design I try to remember to leave a bit of breathing room around the designs as the thicker line work can make details hard to see.
